Overground Tanks Calibration

Image
Tank Calibration of Overground Tanks of 25K to 80K that I can say falls within the range of DOVER FS 3D laser scanner capability is really a challenge. Actually the scaffolding and its requirements, when specifically it goes to sites located inside PDO, OXY, DALEEL it becomes more complicated, maybe because they are not well familiar with the HSE conditions of 3D laser scanning. However, after an understanding atmosphere establishes they release some of the HSE rules that obstacle the 3D laser scanning of the tanks.   AlKhuwaimia Site Overground Tank (Visited on 4th Aug. 2025) This tank although it is 25K, its location has two issues; windy and there is a wall as you can see near to the tank. Height of scaffolding here must be 4 meter, in windy situation with the 3D laser scanner that is 3 meter installed over a 4 meter platform on the scaffolding creates a very risky situation. As you may know, high speed winds (more than 15 Km/hr) and rain are conditions that under them tan...

Working on Sandan FS AlMaha

We worked on Sandan FS Tank Calibration project in July 2025 in Muscat. 3 new tanks have been scanned by the 3D laser scanner which is shown in the pictures. Tanks had a manhole in one side.       A sample of the charts obtained from scans

A Full Guide to Gas Station Tank Calibration

Image
A Full Guide to Tank Calibration (Gas Station Tanks, Especially)  Tank Calibration like the calibration of other equipment in a gas station, refinery, or petrochemical industry is important to have correct information on the inventory or stock. Without such correct and accurate information, different short and long-term issues can arise such as: Shortages in fuel delivery by tankers to the gas stations are not identified to be the real shortage in delivery or the problem in the tank gauging system. This issue leads to lots of claims and court cases between station owners/operators and the Fuel Retail Companies. Not being able to determine the correct inventory amount in the gas station or other tanks, while ordering a standard amount of fuel can lead in some cases to overflow of fuel from tanks which is very dangerous and against HSE and environmental rules In some critical industries having the accurate level-volume or stage-volume, or strapping table of the tank has a meaningful ...
